My first impression was that just as you need to be attacked by a vampire to become one it could be the same deal with what ever the heck that thing is. And that’s why she has the scratches. Although why she would want to hurt Sookie aside from the fact that she’s a better employee isn’t quite clear. Maybe she is jealous of Sam’s feelings for her.

I have no clue what’s up with the pig. It’s totally odd.
