The ending was anti-climactic, but this was a great Survivor season.

I'm surprised Susie never approached Matty and Bob about the option of voting for Sugar. She knew she couldn't win against either of them (and I don't think anybody guessed - least of all Jeff - that she'd get 3 votes) but there was the never-considered option she could split their vote. Maybe the general dislike of Sugar was much bigger than we saw and taking her to the final a no-brainer.

And what about those 3 votes? In the past Survivors have generally been awarded in the end for "playing the best game". Not so much this time. Of course all three of them could be labeled "coat-tail riders" so maybe the question is moot. I don't remember a single season of Survivor - except maybe for the first one - where so many arbitrary, minor actions had such a big impact: Charlie noticing the immunity idol and inciting the wrath of Ken, Randy and the cookie incident, Bob taking part in the humiliation of Randy - while almost costing him Randy's vote - probably played a big part in Sugar's last decision to vote for Matty and securing Bob's win.

I'm just glad it's over and we get a fresh start with hopefully better crop of Survivors in 2009.

I don't even know what to say about Corinne or Randy. Corinne seemed disappointed that her disgusting nature wasn't more loveable, and Randy was dismayed that his disgusting nature turned him into a big joke. I was particularly amused when Sugar reiterated her opinion that he was a jerk during tribal council; here is a man who has many times stated that he hates everyone, doesn't care what people think and refuses to be nice to anyone, yet he is incensed when Sugar calls him a jerk and refuses to kiss his ass for a million dollars. I think both Randy and Corinne are equally foul.

Marcus is kind of an ass, too. I have no idea why he thinks that Susie's decision to save herself invalidates her roles as mother and teacher. Ken did the same thing with Bob and his "broken word." "You're a bad person because you didn't let me win." I mean, do these people really believe that?

Yeah, anything I've seen/read from Marcus since he was booted seemed really snotty. I would bet my house that Corinne had no clue how dangerous Vioxx is/was. Randy's a douche. Generally I don't mind Probst, but I think he's been getting worse and worse as a host for the last 3-4 years.

How shocked am I that aside from Bob the only one I think I could stand being around is Matty? I never would have thought so in the beginning, but he seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

Not that it would have helped her, but Susie should have definitely played up the fact that it was her vote for Marcus that changed the game.

I can't believe that Randy was doing anything other than putting on an act with that misanthropy stuff.

I too was confused by Marcus, but he cleaned up nice.

I liked Charlie's question for Bob.

Yeah, I like Jeff Probst, but sometimes he's pretty obvious about who he likes and doesn't like.

Also, I thought Sugar was kind of ugh while she responded to that question. As if the paparazzi are following her every move. Spare us.

All due respect to B-Side and his shout-out, isn't it kind of weird that THIS is what Jeff chose to ask Sugar about? She held an immunity idol through most of the game, orchestrated a couple of blindsides, and was single-handedly responsible for giving Bob the second chance he needed to stay in -- and win -- the game. But instead of asking about any of that, he asked her the tired old, "So do people recognize you in public?" question. I guess it's true that he really didn't like her.
