NO FREAKING BAG. OH MY GOD.

What a great episode. I got exactly what I wanted when the tribes met up for the reward challenge and Corinne got to see that Marcus was gone and I very much enjoyed the response to her comment that he didn’t deserve to go. Ken challenged her and asked who did deserved to go instead. She had nothing. Charlie gave a beautiful eulogy about how Marcus never complained. Poor Charlie, so alone now, his great love gone.

Fang won the challenge and the greatest reward so far in the game: They visited a local tribe, were welcomed and honoured by them, fed and clothed by them. Then they danced, and Randy believed that one of the women of the tribe was hitting on him. I’ll just let that go because remember, he sacrificed his glasses early on in the game. The dancing was awesome. Matty had the greastest time and the aerial shot of them all dancing in the tiny villiage with nothing around them except for open African lands was really beautiful.

Corinne sent Bob to Exile Island in the hope that he would find the immunity idol and make their alliance stronger. He very easily followed the clues but found no idol, so he made one. It was spectacular! I would totally believe it was real.

At Fang, Randy made it clear how much he hated Crystal and called her a whole bunch of really nasty names while Corinne laughed her head off. Nice people, these. They discussed the treemail, which blatantly stated that they’d be making a fire at the immunity challenge. So instead of practicing, they talked about how lousy the other team was likely to be.

At the challenge, Jeff informed them that they were merging into a single tribe and they’ll be competing for individual immunity. The task was to start a fire and burn through a piece of string, something that Susie has had much practice with as she’s been the one taking care of camp since the beginning of the game. She won easily, with Sugar a close second. No one else even got a fire going!

After the challenge, they all returned to Fang where they spent about five minutes celebrating their new status and then everyone scattered to plot against each other. They named their tribe Nobag, and I am still laughing. Nobag. Rly? No-freaking-bag? NOBAG?

Former Kota was fueled by Randy’s hatred of Crystal while Former Fang was fueled by Ken’s anger at Charlie for spoiling his chance to secretly get that immunity idol during their feast last week. Sugar was the swing vote and I really had no idea who she was going to vote for until they revealed it. Marcus, who saw the whole thing from his spot on the jury, was dismayed to find that Charlie would soon be joining him. Charlie used up his time in the confessional to talk about how he couldn’t wait to see Marcus. Nothing against Charlie at all, but I am really enjoying how this game is going simply because things are blowing up in Corinne’s face.

The episode was dedicated to the memory of Marge Boesch, the wife of Rudy from Survivor Borneo. RIP.

Great episode. I worry that Ken is going to get a bit full of himself and blow it. His reasoning for getting rid of Charlie was stupid; although it was correct to split up him and Corrine.

The look on Matty’s face when he saw that Marcus had been voted out was priceless. I think that may have been the first time we saw him smile.

Randy is a dick. So is Corrine. And really, Nobag?

That’s the best. We re-played that scene about 4 times. :D

Yeah, when Ken started telling us that he’s the mastermind I got a little worried. Can’t people just do their best and simply be pleased when it goes their way? I don’t understand this King of the World symptom.

I really enjoyed listening to Corinne talk about what an idiot Sugar is; how Sugar will just do whatever Corinne wants because she’s an idiot. It just made it that much sweeter when Sugar wrote down Charlie’s name. I hope Corinne is scared!

As much as I liked Charlie and Marcus, I am loving this game! I think it boils down to my distaste of Corinne & Randy. Also, I love blindsides and seeing the underdogs win.

Freakgirl – I agree with you about Ken getting full of himself. They showed it so much last night that I thought it was his time to go. Also, thank you for linking to Jeff’s blog post each week; I enjoy reading them.

Geekboy – those B&A shots are awesome!!!!! HA!

Maggie – that interview where Corinne called Sugar a moron pissed me off. I’m glad Sugar went the other way and showed Corinne who the real moron is.

Yeah, I also am worried about Ken getting too full of himself. It seems inevitable.

I cannot get over that fake idol that Bob made with, you know, just the trash that was laying around on the ground. How I want him to show that to Corinne and have her use it!

I just read Jeff’s blog post… seems he also is worried about Ken’s potential cockiness! But wow, now I’m super psyched for next week. “One of the best episodes of the season. No hype. Pure truth.”

Yeah, well, he also said he thought Corinne to be attractive, so I’m taking that with a grain of salt.

I was surprised they voted Charlie too. It will be interesting to see if Corinne, Randy, and Bob stick together, or try to find another way to stay in the game. I just hope Corinne doesn’t find a way to stick around like the other “Mean Girls” (Jenna M., Parvati, etc.). Good for Ken to give it right back to her.

I’d love to see Bob do something with that fake idol to change the game. Flashbacks to Eliza (”It’s a f—ing stick!”). Too bad Bob wasn’t on last season!

I know Randy isn’t popular, but I have to give him props for his remark about Crystal not being able to start a fire with matches and gasoline. At least he brings the funny from time to time. Corinne is just hateful.

I’d say Randy’s pretty hateful, too. He was walking a very thin line when he referred to GC & Crystal as a “gang” and referred to them as a “posse.”

    It made me uncomfortable.

Did Randy make those comments at TC? That does suck. I had kind of tuned him out at that point.

There’s a fine line between funny and mean and Randy crosses it constantly. I hated him in the beginning, then I liked him again because he seemed to have a realistic grasp of what was going on in the game. But in the end I cannot stand him because of the way he finds joy. He is a cruel man.

Jack, yeah, he said them at Tribal Council. Bleh. He sucks.

Maggie – your best recap yet.

Corinne sux. Randy is an ass. Marcus cleans up nice.

My favorite part of this recap was the part of giving Randy a pass because he didn’t have his glasses. Har!

In a post-boot interview, Charlie tells us how unlikable Sugar is. Yes, I think this is the very same Charlie who’s aligned with CORINNE, fercrissakes.

I probably shouldn’t read these, because they often change my opinion of the players. In Marcus’ interview, he came off like a sore loser, claiming that Kenny “took advantage of people’s compassion”. Ugh. Whatever. It’s a game, people.

okay so i was so not into this season, but it is family dinner night, which means eating then watching this and csi (my parents very much eye network people since the days of touch my my angel with your wings or whatever).

ken needs to cool it, nothing like getting a little power. which he’s only had a week, all last week was marcus STUPID stupid move of telling who was going next. i’m sure that’s been discussed, but ken had nothing to do with marcus getting voted out, it was crystal and susie.

as for corinne, i think it’s funny when girls like her and parvarti and the like find themselves on the not-right side. which is the side where they don’t get their way. i just think, has the world always gone the way you wanted.

personally i think randy is just a rude a– motherf’er. all the crap he said about crystal and the fact he got SO wound up at matty after they won. he or corinne are leaving next week, if sugar and bob don’t do anything too stupid. randy should go first, just to see if corinne sells her soul to susie to stay in the game. now that would be funny.

Jeff’s blog is pretty fantastic. He’s much more charming in print.

Still not exactly sure how he pulled it off but there had to be a bit of smelting going on and I don’t even know what smelting means!

Also, “NOBAG” made me wish we were all hooked up somehow to watch together. Even without that, I could hear the collective HOOTING.
