I Would Like My Dress to Attack My Legs While I’m Wearing It, Thx
Thursday, November 15, 2007 at 08:09am by freakgirlSeason 4 of Project Runway debuted last night, and we already have our resident whackjob in Elisa. A quick look at her bio tells me that she’s dressed Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex & The City, and that tells me everything I need to know. Seriously, though, I love a kook, and I’m sure she’ll give us some fun this season, if she’s not auf’d early.
Random thoughts: I really miss Heidi screeching, “SixTEEN deesigners!” and her adorably repetitive, “Models, this is also a competition for you as well.” I feel like Rami is being set up to be this season’s star, meaning he’ll come in second. Jack looks disturbingly like a Ken doll. I am watching him with interest, as it seems there will be some drama around him later in the season (spoilers). I think Christian is precious, but he may become tiresome with his overconfidence. And yay, with Chris, we finally have a designer who knows how design outside the “form.”
See all the designs from this week here.

Welcome back, PR! It’s been too long (twss).
Was it me or were those some broke-ass, round-shouldered models? Stand up straight, ladies!

I didn’t understand the winning design. Looked like something between a toga and the Statue of Liberty.
I was very glad that they didn’t do away with the nutjob Elisa.

I loved the winning design while it was on the dress form. But on the model – it kind of made her look, uh, “sturdy.” Michael Kors was right on the money when he said the flower made it look like MOB (Mother of the Bride).

In Tim’s inimitable words, “zaftig.”

And I am so glad they didn’t get rid of Elisa. She is a freak and will be fun to watch. What were those noises she made when she was describibg her dress? And did she call her dress a haiku? More like hai-poo, according to Heidi.

She’s the same one who was rubbing her fabric into the grass, right? Too funny.

I think this is one of those instances where the disclaimer about producers having input in the final decision applied. If the two contestants were equally bad, you’ve got to keep the nutcase and let the normal one go.

I loved the new-agey space cadet music they played while Elisa was talking to Tim. Anyone have any suggestions for an eventual winner? We’re having a pool at my office and we have to pick a winner after the third week.

Of course, I’ll share the winnings. Via the internets.

I’ll guess (just based on this week) Rami or Kit.

Oh, everyone, please take note. Kevin is straight. And don’t you forget it.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that, Sandy.

They’re all so full of themselves, and it’s wonderful. About 30 minutes in, for some reason, my pick to win was Simone (ha!).
“It was like the model was pooing fabric”. Can I please have that soundbite as a ringtone?

All I could think whenever I saw Christian was: Chris Kattan in a crooked wig.
