Am I wrong in thinking that Jamie is a douche for saying out loud, “Everyone expected me to win and were disappointed when I didn’t”? It’s one thing to think it, another to say it out loud, ON TV. Loved the expression on Ariane’s face when she realized she had in fact one.
Also, I was very happy to see Danny go. What a (yucky) (clueless) buffoon.

I thought it was pretty funny that she was so shocked she lost, she felt she had to verbalize it. You’re right — thinking it is one thing, saying it out loud just makes you look conceited. Although, as I said to the geekboy, you only have to come in first on the last episode. Ariane strikes me as someone who will make a catastrophic mistake at some point and not make it to the end. She just seems like she flusters her way into greatness. Maybe she really is good…who knows?
Stephan versus Douche Boy was also entertaining.

You folks keep saying things I agree with: terrible facial hair; surprised Jamie said that; think Ariane will make some terrible mistake (is it Top Chef or top line cook?).
I love Stefan’s crush on Jamie — cracks me up. Jeff is sort of an enigma on this show. I can never figure out when you’re in the bottom if 3 if you were supposed to like your meal or be disappointed in it. Do you get more credit if you say the latter?

Seriously, the minute they began to entertain the “roll your own sushi” idea I yelled at the TV. I was like are you flipping insane!?!?
Carla said something that made me laugh out loud and of course I can’t remember what it was now.
Glad that Daniel is gone.

Was it the whole “Hootie!!!” thing (with her husband when they can’t find each other? Cuz that made me laugh.
Also, Stefan did the Eminem and got married and divorced twice to the same woman? Nice!

I’d say this week was a net positive for Stefan. Despite bashing Jeff’s sorbet, his crush on Jamie entertains me greatly. And I had him pegged as a skilled palate. Too bad it went up against mole.
Fabio continues to be a bright spot: “There is not any freaking blue food!”
Also, I know I say it every week, but Carla’s reaction to her first-round win was one of the scariest things I’ve seen on TV in a while.

I’m sad that Danny put his “mushroom surprise” into Carla’s dish….if he had messed with ANYONE else’s dish, there would have been a smackdown.

That Crazy Eyes Carla said Hootie in the store despite the fact that her husband was nowhere to be found and her teammates would have no clue what she was doing killed me. I hope she never leaves.
Jamie’s totally going to make it to the finals, probably against Stefan. I’m not sure who the third person is going to be yet, though. Even though Ariane apparently knows how to cook the hell out of some meat, we haven’t seen her have to be especially creative or innovative yet.

How awesome would it have been if Carla hootied and her husband popped up from behind a cereal display or something? She is really growing on me. She has the weirdest face I’ve ever seen, but I was so impressed with her behavior at Judges Table. She could have completely destroyed Daniel, and she didn’t. Of course Colicchio looks at that as weak, but I thought it showed integrity.
I’m going to try Ariane’s restaurant sometime soon. It’s only about an hour or so away.
