It’s Like a Little Prick, But Then It Grows in Your Mouth

Vegetarians
in a steakhouse? O-M-G
Natalie Portman!

Seriously, it is not that difficult to cook a vegetarian meal, people. Also, I’ve eaten in that particular restaurant and it was DELICIOUS. I had scallops, of course.

See all the dishes here.

DUDES! I am so excited about who packed their knives and went. WOOT WOOT! Happy days are here again! :: does a little dance ::

I hope Jen can pull it together, because if she gets cut before Robin, I actually fear for Robin’s well-being.

Deb – Are you sure that they were actually scallops and not leeks cleverly disguised as scallops to make your body think that you were getting protein?

I am laughing my ass off over here.

Seriously, how much did you LOVE it when they asked him if he knew that leeks weren’t actually a protein. They were looking at him like he was the biggest dipshit in the world.

Colicchio’s blog is hysterical; he cannot get over the leek thing:

I don’t care about Robin, but how happy was I that Mike I. left before she did? I hope I never have to see Mike and his overinflated ego again.

Meanwhile, I like Michael V. less and less. Being inventive doesn’t always mean having the best dish — get over it. Kevin made the only dish that was worthy of an entree. Win.

I can’t remember — is it 3 people in the finale or 4? If it’s 4, I’m hoping for Bryan, Michael, Kevin and Jen. They are clearly the most talented of the bunch.

Also, Natalie Portman is cute as a button.

Can we just give it to Kevin? He’s completely unflappable, never freaks out, is humble, adorable, and cranks out high quality food without pretension just about every time.

Again, I recommend Tom’s blog. He isn’t kind to the Voltaggio brothers.

And yes, let’s get rid of Toby and add Natalie Portman as a permanent judge.

I knew what was gonna be in the title of this recap as soon as Padma said it!

I met my brother-in-law’s new girlfriend tonight and I wasn’t sure how I felt about her until she said that she used to go to Mike I’s restaurant all the time, but within the first 30 minutes of the first episode she declared she’ll never go back. :)

Heh. I read Colicchio’s blog. Awesome.

As ready as I am to never see Robin’s passive-agressive, self-pitying schtick again, this was an excellent outcome. Mike I could’ve displaced one of the more talented chefs on a good night. Plus, NEVER SEEN SEINFELD? But whateverwhatever. Douchebag. (And 60 dishes on the menu? That’s a terrible sign for a restaurant.)

Jen’s hair-pulling comment, I thought, was much dirtier than the predictable “little prick” gigglefest. Would you judge me or thinking it was hot?

Natalie Portman… sigh. What can you say? Somehow, I’m guessing that she doesn’t need a new dealer. Eli should be shot for the Star Wars comment (though I did just see him on Richard Blais’s team for Iron Chef America; they lost).

I’m rooting more and more for religulous, “I’m not one to turn down food” Kevin. Pig tattoo!

I think there are three at the end.. Was that in a Bravo blog? I’m hoping for Brian, Kevin, Jen.
