I was very sorry to see Ariane go; I guess I didn’t realize she had grown on me. I was also very sorry to see Leah remain. She and Hosea are becoming annoying and I think she AND her food are deadly boring.

Poor Jamie finally got her win and had to share it with two other people! I wonder why they didn’t just give Carla the win — it seemed that it was her tart that gave them the ultimate edge. It’s nice to see a Top Chef who knows how to cook pastry!

Jeff is also growing on me. I’m curious to see how he does in next week’s Restaurant Wars.

I was really hoping, after seeing the animals in previews, that the chefs would have to buck up and do their own slaughtering.

Jamie won last week too, for her Top Scallops. And I’d argue the point that if not for the dessert, they wouldn’t have won. Everyone seemed to like the cutlet and the soup, despite noting that the latter wasn’t really appropriate to the season. I’m sure they could have played it differently in editing, but the team’s contributions seemed to be pretty evenly split. (Okay, except for Stefan’s poor decision.)

Speaking of whom, that was definitely a 60-second mini-segment that was worth watching. Hi-larious.

From the previews, I am kinda dreading next week. I can only assume that one of them is doomed.

patrick, I am so dumb! I totally forgot she won last week. Never mind!!!

I was sort of hoping they’d have to watch the animals be slaughtered, too. I don’t know why.

I was really sad to see Ariane go, too, even though it seems obvious that they stuck her with the meat because she’d won several times before because of her skill with cooking the protein.

I think Hosea and Leah stayed because of producer input more than anything else. They all were eligible but the judges seemed particularly unhappy with how Leah let Ariane take the fall and failed to step up.

I would’ve gone with the chicken meal. It looked really good.

I have been craving green fried tomatoes since last night – I’ve never had them before and they looked so good.

The quick fire challenge was fun and different, I thought. Some of the end results looked disgusting though, particularily Jamie’s Bruscetta with Garbanzo Beans, Artichoke, and Mussles. And spam, ewww.

I was quite sorry Ariane was kicked off; personally I would have chosen Leah, considering how easily she let Ariane take the blame. Plus, Ariane has a great personality while Leah is SO. BORING. It’s too bad that the judges have to consider each challenge as if it were the first for the chef’testants, as Ariane has been given high praise for her food again and again in the past and although she may have done a bad butchering job with the lamb she did a lot of work with little help.

Carla was low on the crazy scale last night but she rocked a great dessert, so awesome for her!

    And yup, Jamie bugs me.

Padma got quite short with the new judge when he said that Ariane can’t cook, didn’t she? Go, Padma!

I have to say, I am a fan of Spam. I haven’t had it in probably 20 years, but it brings back fun memories of my dad making breakfast for me on weekend mornings. I’m embarrassed to say I was kind of drooling over Hosea’s split pea soup with Spam.

I was a little disappointed over Ariane, but she was never going to win so can’t be that upset. Great cook, not a great chef. I don’t think Leah can win either. Anyone else we can count out?

    Radhika, for sure.

I wouldn’t have said that about Radhika 2 weeks ago, though.

Crazy-eyes, but she’ll probably stay longer than Radhika.

Jamie did get on my nerves… I would’ve thought that at least chefs would know how to pronounce “bruschetta”.

Actually, the way Jamie pronounced “bruschetta” was correct. I don’t pronounce it that way, because I think it sounds pretentious for an American, but she is a chef, so I guess she gets a pass.

CEC totally should have won this week… I thought it was nice to see Padma come to Ariane’s defense… I am totally ready to see Leah go. Snore.

Also? the whole “cock” thing was hilarious. Laugh-out-loud.

I can’t remember how she said it…I thought the correct way to say it was “broo-SKETT-a,” is that right?

You know what? I noticed that Jame pronounced it correctly in a talking head interview, then, when presenting it, pronouncing it “broo-SHETT-a.”

Oh, I only noticed her saying “bru-SHETT-a”, which she did more than once. I don’t remember her saying otherwise. My bad, Jamie.
