Don’t get me wrong, America. I love unicorns and rainbows, too

As most of us already know, this happened (spoiler), so it’s a little weird to recap last night’s show without acknowledging it. As usual, CBS wants their television-only viewers to see only a small portion of what’s really going on, and they’re trying to keep internet speculation under control by halting the feeds anytime the houseguests start talking about the person “expelled” from the game.

In any case, it seems that Michele observed the behaviour of Natalie, Chima and Lydia after Jessie was evicted and decided to align herself with the slightly saner group of Russell, Jeff and Jordan as soon as she won the HoH competition. I’m glad we got to see Chima’s immediate reaction to Jessie’s eviction. She blasted Jeff for being disloyal, but he held his own and honestly? I don’t recall Jeff ever promising to be loyal to Chima. She is completely full of herself and it was just another example of how Chima reacts when things don’t go her way…like a spoiled baby.

It was nice to see Russell and Michele make up, but it’s obvious these two really don’t like each other. Even so, when the four of them spend time together, they have lots of fun. Conversely, when Natalie, Chima and Lydia spend time together, they weep openly about the loss of Jessie. As though he’s dead. They even say it’s like he’s dead. I know he’s brain dead, but come on! Even Kevin, who is now trapped in an alliance of lunatics, is completely fed up with them and doesn’t know what to do. His only escape is to bitch about them in the DR. He was really offended when Jessie pushed him away, so he’s not mourning at all. Lydia in particular made me howl with laughter when she talked about how Jessie would pray for all of them. Really? Jessie should be praying for brain cells.

Kevin is also unimpressed with Lydia’s stuffed unicorn. While Jeff is totally impressed that Lydia came up with the name Dae Yum Yum all by herself, Kevin would rather beat the shit out of the unicorn. WHO THE HELL CARES.

Jeff and Jordan continue to flirt and Russell sees their connection, so he brings it up into the open. Jordan is embarrassed and starts coming up with reasons they shouldn’t be together, like the disparity between their ages, but then Jeff proposes to her and she’s totally delighted. I still think they are adorable together. I really enjoy watching Jeff and I wish he’d never said those horrifying things earlier in the game. I just can’t get past it.

At one point Michele suggests sending Chima home and the whole alliance springs to life, giggling and excited at the prospect. Michele nominates Chima and Natalie, and I couldn’t be happier. Unfortunately, things don’t go well after that. We’ll have to wait and see what CBS wants us to see on Tuesday. If you prefer not to be spoiled, I’ll just say that even April handled things better when Howie was trying to get her to quit during BB6.

Since BB6, any time the house is divided the side that America always finds as the nasty, mean, despicable side is the side that thinks they are “good people” and that the side America roots for are the “bad people.” We saw that last night with Natalie’s tearful Diary Room segment. Chima’s reaction to the twist, too, brought to mind BB6’s April and her “America are pieces of shit” comment.

I realize the house makes you crazy, but dayum.

And really, Kevin, you are so spineless, you should be ashamed of yourself. JUMP SHIP, DUDE. You have a chance to finish third, fourth or fifth with the Jeff/Jordon/Michele/Russell alliance, whereas with the Manson Sisters, you’re out pretty soon. But instead, stick around with a bunch of crazy women who are mourning the fake loss of a person you thought was abusive and who treated you terribly. I don’t get it.

Did anyone else notice how drunk Chima was for about half of her diary room segments?

Oh, and nice job CBS on keeping everything under wraps and then SPOILING 95% OF WHAT HAPPENS WITH A VOICEOVER RIGHT BEFORE THE CREDITS! My wife doesn’t like to follow the feed recaps, she just watches the show and learns to see what happens that way. She was NOT happy when they did that last night.

Also, how awesome is it that because of your headline, Google ads has dropped in an ad for Unicorn T-Shirts?

You’re right about the good vs. evil crap. I don’t understand why they always break themselves down that way. “Oh, Jessie was SO GOOOOD! Why did he have to die?” Whatever.

The spoiler voiceover was so dumb.

Edited to add that I doubt Kevin CAN jump ship. I mean, he can try, but I don’t see it working out. The others don’t trust him, and if he jumps he burns his bridges with the crazies.

I agree with the BB6 comparisons: Jessie’s eviction = Cappy, with all the fake mourning and everything (but without Kaysar or Howie’s comic relief, “pepperooooooonnnniiiiii ….”)

Has anyone else noticed that Chima’s eyebrows are shaped like sperm? Especially the left one.
