Last Episode of ER

Thursday, April 02, 2009 at 07:24am by freakgirl

Tonight is the series finale of ER. We watched the show religiously forever, but dropped it a few years back because it was just so damn depressing. However, we picked it back up a few weeks ago so we could give it a proper good-bye. Tonight on NBC we’ll see an hour-long retrospective, followed by a two-hour finale. I don’t know much about the finale, but I’m guessing we’ll see some familiar faces and probably get a little choked up.

Are you going to watch? Talk about some of your favorite ER moments in the comments, then come back here after the show to discuss the finale.

One of my favorite episodes of the show was when Susan’s sister Chloe had her baby, and then abandoned her, leaving her with Susan. The Beatle’s song “Blackbird” figured heavily in the episode, and I can’t hear that song now without thinking of about it. Susan was always one of my favorite characters.

Oh yeah, that was a great episode. I think Susan is suppose to be back for tonight’s episode.

I’ve watched from the beginning even though I nearly jumped ship when John Stamos became a regular. Nothing against him really but I REALLY hate his character. While I’m sad to see the finale tonight, I believe it’s time for the show to finally end. I really liked the season when Kelly Martin was on and played medical student, Lucy. I think I cried the most when Dr. Greene died and I still can’t listen to that version of “over the Rainbow” without thinking of ER. Also, when Dr. Carter and his wife Kim lost their baby. That was so heartbreaking.

They’ve done an excellent job this season and I was glad to see that Neela finally ended up back with Ray (thank you writers!). Also, Morris has become one of my favorite characters over the years and it has been really great to see him grow. I still call his girlfriend on the show Vanessa though (from Six Feet Under).

I haven’t watched it in years, but I loved it the first few seasons. My favorite episode was when Lucy was killed – it was incredibly sad, and tense, and dramatic and real. Waah!

That episode still haunts me. Especially whenever I hear that LCD Soundsystem song.

Didn’t Quentin Tarantino direct that episode with Chole and her baby?

I think my fave was the episode where Greene has to deliver a baby in the ER and everything goes horribly, horribly wrong. There’s a moment when he has to PUSH THE BABY BACK IN that I will never, ever forget.

That was called “Love’s Labor Lost” and it was one of the most harrowing hours of tv ever.

I enjoyed the finale! It was weird seeing Rory Gilmore like there, everyone acting like she’s worked there for months or something.

But there were a lot of callbacks to the pilot, and I loved that Rachel Greene came back to pay homage and continue her father’s work. Also, Sherry Stringfield looks AMAZING. Gorgeous.

i’ve been a fan since the beginning….but lost interest after dr. greene died and esp. when Abby left. Never liked the Sam character. Just didn’t really CARE about the Characters anymore……And did they really need to make Ernie Borgnine climb up on the gurney to lay with his dead wife?…………oh well. its over.
