T.R. Knight Leaving Grey’s Anatomy
Tuesday, December 09, 2008 at 12:33pm by freakgirlEntertainment Weekly reports T.R. Knight is quitting the show. I don’t blame him. The show has run completely off the rails, with the Izzie/Denny/Alex Love Triangle of WTF, Mary McDonnell’s offensive portrayal of a surgeon with Aspberger’s, the undeserved firing of Brooke Smith, the new weirdo intern who tried to take out her own appendix…shall I go on? Of course, I’m still watching (well, helloooo, Kevin McKidd). But the character of George hasn’t had anything to do in about a season and a half. So go forth, young T.R. Fly!

Despite Kevin McKidd and T.R., I quit this show. The Asperger’s heart surgeon (I’m not trying to say that’s the only reason) episode was my last.

Ah, that was the other thing I meant to mention. Going to edit that now. Thanks.

I agree about the show being way wacky this season, but I also am still watching. Although, last year I replaced it on the Tivo with The Office and 30 Rock, and now just watch online. I wonder what hospital drama will replace it for me next? I was an ER person from the beginning until I switched to Grey’s (about 3 or 4 seasons past when ER was still good…).

We stopped ER about 2 seasons ago; I’ll watch the series finale, though. I record Grey’s Anatomy on our second tv, and watch it while I work out on Fridays.

ER was done for me when they started having all those ridiculous sweeps shows – rampage killer, helicopter crash 1 and 2, driving a tank into the hospital, and also when they made Anthony Edwards’ tumor come back like a daytime soap. But maybe I will watch the series finale too…

The character of George seems to be the only one with some sanity, so that’s probably why he hasn’t been given anything to do… they are all about the crazy lately. It’s too bad, because he was always my favourite character. I wish him much much success!
As for the Izzie storyline, I have a link to what the deal with that is, so only click if you want to be spoiled. I still think it’s silly.

Also, my pretend bf, Joel McHale has a great take on the show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HTmXF7D9Jw

I do have to say, I was pretty excited to see my darling Mary Cherry on the show. Even if it was her getting poop shoved up her nose.
As for Izzie and Denny, it’s fucking stupid, and they made us hate a character we used to love (Denny). And I am confident that they wrote it in order to punish Heigel for her comments about not getting Emmy-worthy material.

Sergio — we’ll see. The sources in the story you link to are dated a day earlier than EW’s. EW hasn’t done me wrong yet.

I agree – and don’t blame him for wanting to leave. I’ve usally been very forgiving of the show and it’s whacky storylines because the writing has been good enough to pull it off. But this Denny nonsense is really grating on my nerves. His storyline was never that great to begin with! And I’ll miss George – there was plenty of potential with the character and it was completely wasted.
