Sometimes a Fantasy
Friday, October 06, 2006 at 08:30am by freakgirlAs illustrated in last week’s post about “I Am A Tree,” sometimes very obvious things pass me by. So, please, dear readers, could you explain to me the timing around McSteamy’s visit to Addison’s hotel room? Tonight she referred to it as a “transcontinental booty call,” which means that if she called him while drunk in the last episode, she had to probably wait like eight hours for him to show up. I don’t get it. That seems ridiculous. Or had she planned out her booty call the same way she planned out her drunk day and that’s why she asked for a cab at 10:00pm? Having said that, mmmmmm, McSteamy. When she slapped him and he just smiled at her? HOT. While I find it obnoxious that Meredith invited Derek and Finn to compete for her, and then got angry when they did, I thought her little speech at the end was funny. As for Izzie, when she does something, she really applies herself, huh? Laying on the bathroom floor for days, baking hundreds of muffins, and staring at a building for eight hours. And yay for Cristina, for finally realizing that Burke can’t go it alone and needs someone to light a fire under his ass.

Not only that, but the transcontinental booty call has lasted a week, because that’s how long George said Callie’d been staying with them.
McAsshole was in fine form last night. Also I am officially annoyed by Izzie’s “I was in love! I was engaged!” schtick. I want to slap the emotion right out of her, because honey–you really didn’t know the guy. And Geoege was a jerk, but good for Callie calling him on it with the “if you could use your words…” thing.
Am still totally loving Alex.

uhh yeah? McSteamy’s arrogant charm is way hot. I loved the slap-smile. I was wondering about the time difference as well, but I guess there are some things we just have to accept and go with.
I was wondering about Izzie (not Lizzie..) and her Sweater outside the hospital. Did she have it in a bag at first? I don’t remember her wearing it earlier in the episode. Call the continuity police!

I don’t know if Izzy had the sweater in the bag or not, but I didn’t realize until I read the writer’s blog that it was actually Denny’s sweater. That somehow made it even more ‘aww’ for me.

I thought it was a relatively weak episode. I’m not a fan of the “make George less likeable” story arc they seem to be creating for him. That just seems to be preventing me from having more “Cassie Torres in sexy lacy boy cut underwear” scenes and I need more of that.
I’m concerned about the Allison Shepard storyline now, though. If her life moves continually more separate from the McDreamy/Meredith world, I’m not sure I’ll care. But bonus for me for catching the actress who plays Allison Shepard in a guest star role on the repeats of Karen Sisco on Sleuth (sigh, I’m still angry that show didn’t last).
I’m not sure Ellen Pompeo can actually gain weight but she sure looked less skeletal last night.
And Big ups to Little Miss Sunshine’s guest starring role. I love that kid.

oh, that’s why the little one looked familiar, thx Jason!

I’ll totally watch Addison outside of the love triangle. But I’m at the point where I pretty much groan at the screen anytime Meredith is on (I’ve disliked her from the start).
Last night was not my favorite episode, except for the Alex/Abigail Breslin storyline. That was wonderful.
And I love this new dynamic of Addison and Bailey possibly becoming closer than acquaintances.

I knew my “Allison” sounded wrong.
I need more sleep.

Well here’s my attempt at making sense of Mark’s timing:
Addison looked pretty drunk when Izzie showed up at Joe’s. That was around lunchtime (as evidenced by Finn bringing Izzie lunch and Izzie not being there). So say she calls Mark around then…he hops on the next flight he can get. That would get him to Seattle sometime that evening without being too unrealistic.
What bothered me timeline wise was that it’s been more than a week since the last episode, so we’re expected to believe both Derek and Finn waited a whole week and then asked her out within minutes of eachother? nay, SECONDS?? Furthermore, Addison’s been drunk for a week and not at her job? I don’t let it bug me too much, I just accept it that Grey’s has usually has a very strange concept of time.
My favorite scene was Cristina and Alex (and George) betting on Mere’s date with Finn and Derek’s interference.
However, the dating both guys thing just turned out kind of annoying. So I hope next week = goodbye vet.

The She Shepard bugs. I find her self-pity more annoying than anything else on that show.
Say we were playing Marry, Screw [hee], Kill. McDreamy, McVet, McSteamy. McSteamy is hot, but that’s about it. I can only handle one arrogant ass on this show, and I like Alex better.

I’m personally more than a little worried about adding McSteamy as a regular. When they did this, his episode this season hadn’t even aired. Yeah, he’s great to look at…but the show is getting freaking crowded. And like sar said, I’d take Alex over McSteamy. I just don’t see AT ALL what he adds to the show. Geez. I’m trying to be positive…
