Machetes Up Top

As we were watching this episode, the geekboy turned to me and said, “I have seen enough of Andy’s ass to last a lifetime.” Although Andy’s ass is much more enjoyable to me than Sookie’s boobs on True Blood, I understand his point. I must say, Jennifer Jason Leigh is a welcome presence on this show — I just love her and think she is excellent casting to play Nancy’s sister. HOT POCKETS!
Anyhoo. Perhaps I am oversensitive, but the sex scene between Nancy and Esteban looked more like rape to me. It was disturbing, especially with her being drunk and then just standing there with her ass hanging out. I know it was supposed to give us a chuckle, but it made me very uncomfortable. The Nancy segments are the least interesting to me now.
How about Silas and his brand new veneers? I didn’t notice last week, but this week they looked HUGE.
Your thoughts on the episode?

I don’t think that scene was to give us a giggle at all. That was definatly a rape. It was ALL about power, not about sex.

It was, but Nancy kept saying “Yes, yes.” Not like that makes it any better — he was obviously “showing her who’s boss.” I just don’t understand where they’re going with this. Perhaps she’s just in a kinky relationship.
Because otherwise, she’s in an abusive relationship with a guy that is threatening to kill her at every turn and raping her on occasion. I thought this show was a comedy.

So far, I’m not loving this season. It’s gotten just a little too dark. Maybe that was inevitable, given Nancy’s poor “career” choices, but I don’t enjoy watching her get threatened and, if not raped, definitely having rough sex.

I have to agree, I think the show is getting pretty dark. The end of season 4 gave me stomach aches because the tension was so high and this isn’t really getting and less tense. I want it to all turn out okay, but I’m having a really hard time seeing how.

I agree with both of you. This show used to be so harmless and fun, but now there’s a body count every week. Really curious as to how they’re going to resolve all this.
