Lost - Jin and Rousseau

Jin is on the beach with Rousseau and her crew, sixteen years in the past. He’s very confused and wants to get back to camp to find Sun, but doesn’t know where it is. Rousseau asks him if he can navigate from the radio tower (as they are hoping to get rescued) and he says yes, so he goes with them to find it. On the way there they encounter the Black Smoke Monster. It grabs one of the men and drags him to some ruins and tries to pull him beneath. Everyone grabs onto him but the Smoke Monster severs his arm at the shoulder and disappears with the rest of him. They can hear him calling for help from below, so the rest of the crew goes in after him. Jin tries to stop them and succeeds only in stopping Rousseau herself, because she’s pregnant. Then the island flashes through time and he’s alone, confused, looking at the dessicated severed arm lying on the ground.

In a Nutshell

Thursday, February 05, 2009 at 03:47am by Maggie

In LA: Everyone (except Hurley who’s still in jail) ends up at the docks, where Kate is shocked to learn that Jack and Ben are working together. Then Jack and Kate are both shocked to learn that the lawyer after custody of Aaron is working for Ben. Sun, with Aaron asleep in the backseat of her car, grabs a gun and is about to confront them.

On the island: The group continues to hop around in time while they try to make their way to the Orchid station at John’s suggestion. He tells Sawyer about his goal to try to bring the O6 back to the island. As they’re rowing around the perimeter of the island, time jumps and they find themselves in a huge storm. When they get to shore, they discover wreckage from a French vessel. At the same time, a group of French people in a life raft during the same storm see a man floating on some wreckage in the water. They save him and we see it’s JIN! In the morning when they beach, one of the raft’s crew introduces herself to him…it’s a pregnant Rousseau from sixteen years ago!

Desmond

The episode starts with a flashback, or a flash-forward, depending on how you look at it. Desmond is running around a small beach village yelling frantically for a doctor, who follows him back to the boat just in time to deliver Desmond and Penny’s baby. Three years post-island, the boy, young Charlie (aw!), is about two years old and listens to his father talk about their trip back to Great Britain. Penny is unhappy that they’re making this trip because she’s afraid her father will try to hurt them.
