I spent all Sunday afternoon watching the first four episodes of Dexter Season 4 (premiering next week on Showtime).

I have to admit that I was worried about Dexter being married with a kid, and still carrying along his “dark passenger.” I couldn’t see Dexter as a dad, not just because he’s a serial killer, but because he’s supposed to be so emotionally stunted. However, the writers are handling it well and there were some real laugh-out-loud moments in between the typical gore — that the difficulties of parenting are the same for everyone, even for cold-blooded killers. John Lithgow plays the Big Bad this season, and his performance so far is creepy beyond words. Don’t forget to tune in! The end of the fourth episode left me on the edge of the couch, shrieking at the television.
