I love when The Amazing Race is back on my television. After Dan won Big Brother this summer, my faith in these game shows has been renewed. We’ll see how long that lasts, heh. Anyway, the 13th season of TAR kicked off in Los Angeles and headed straight to Brazil. Let’s meet our teams! Survivor returned last night in a 2-hour HD double episode. The first order of business was for everyone to introduce themselves and state their line of work. Crystal, the Olympic gold medal winner, told everyone she was a preschool teacher, which turned out to be a good idea considering she was the last one to finish the first challenge.

The most positive thing I can say about this week’s 90210 is that they finally performed a song from Spring Awakening that WASN’T the “Mama who bore me…” ditty that makes me want to drill holes into my skull. I really don’t like this show much, but I also can’t turn away. Jennie Garth and Rob Estes have some sort of hold on me. Also, I enjoy the character of Silver. She’s pretty cool.

This is one of the new shows I was looking forward to checking out. I thought it might be fun to watch, but my concern was how they’re going to keep the cleverness rolling week after week. It aired on Tuesday night at 9. My thoughts on the show (and minor spoilers) are after the jump.

Okay, so the title of this week’s episode of The Sarah Connor Chronicles is “Mousetrap”. And about 15 minutes into the episode, you already understand why. And then a few minutes after that, Cromartie point blank gives you the history of the mousetrap, and how it can’t really be improved upon. Which is probably true. It’s not really possible to build a mousetrap that’s much better than the original. But, as Wile E. Coyote has proven time and time again, it is possible to build a more COMPLICATED mousetrap … which may or may not work.
